My Halloween Costume…

was the King of All Cosmos, from the video game series Katamari Damarcy. I made most of the costume; the headpiece is tagboard shaped into a tube and strengthened with some styrofoam discs I cut out, then covered with an appropriate fabric. The cape is a purple with felt shapes ( which you can’t really see in the picture ), the belt buckle is just some more tagboard with a hot-glue animal design on it, and the ruff around my neck is lots of pieces of 8 1/2 x 11 white paper folded and stapled together. A-Z Discount Skylight in Santa Clara

We replaced the roofs in our townhouse complex this fall. It was quite an endeavor, and I should probably write an entry about it too, but one of the things that our roofer told us he’d do if we wanted was install any skylights or vent fans basically for free, given that he was doing the rest of the roof. So, I had four skylights and a sun tunnel installed on the back side of my roof; the four skylights in the ‘big’, upstairs family room which has, until now, received very little in the way of natural light. Now, that room gets lots of light. And, I wanted to install a sun tunnel in our bathroom shower, which also gets no natural light at all, because it’s deep inside the house and has no windows. and because nobody actually reads this blog, so I can participate in the vast left-wing conspiracy… Richard Pombo is running for re-election to his seat in the House of Representatives. He’s not in my district, but one about thirty minutes south-east of where I live. Nonetheless, I really hope he loses.

I rather agree with this guy…
